I asked a friend of mine who is a grandmother and raised six boys how to get that potty training smell out of the bathroom and here is her answer, which worked like a charm!
You will need:
- Baking Soda
- 2 – 3 Lemons
- White Vinegar in a spray bottle
In a small bowl, pour some baking soda, and then cut lemons in half and squeeze on to the baking soda to make a thin paste. Save the lemon halves for later. Next, spread the paste on to the bathroom floor and on walls and surfaces that may have been inadvertently hit by your boys with poor aim. Make sure to only spread it on areas that won’t be harmed by the moisture (such as tile walls). Let this paste sit for about 15 – 20 minutes or until it dries. Next spray with white vinegar. The baking soda will bubble and fizz and work its magic on the odor and germs. Scrub the areas with the leftover lemon halves. Once you have the areas scrubbed, clean up the remaining mixture with a damp cloth. Throw your lemon halves in your compost pile or garbage. Repeat weekly or as needed (With two boys no longer in diapers, I only needed to repeat weekly) and enjoy the new fresh scent in your bathroom!
